About this editor & file support

A single-staff melody notebook with whole through sixteenth notes, dotted rhythms, rests, equal-note triplets, ties, slurs, and treble or bass clef. Beams, ties, slurs, and triplets are saved in MusicXML. Slurs indicate phrasing; they do not add instrument-specific bowing to playback. C4 is middle C. Notes without an accidental follow the key signature and earlier accidentals in the measure. Changing the key can therefore change their sound. Explicit accidentals keep their specified pitch. Pitch or rhythm edits remove connections that no longer fit.

Import compressed .mxl or plain .musicxml/.xml files. Multiple parts, voices, chords, other tuplets, overlapping slurs, repeats, pickups, and changing signatures are not supported yet. Other annotations may be omitted; import shows a review before replacing your score.

Your score stays in this browser. Playback downloads instrument samples on first use and needs a connection. Local drafts are shared between tabs; export important work before switching devices or clearing browser data. Use Export for PDF, editable MXL, a PNG image, or WAV audio of the complete score. Audio uses the selected instrument and tempo; passage selection and looping do not affect exports. Audio export needs a connection to load instrument samples.
