Résumé Rehab

I gave Résumé Rehab: Surviving the 6-second scan at a church event, mostly for people ages 18–25. The FHE committee told me they'd liked my presentation from last year, which is what prompted me to give this one.

It's frustrating to see people with impressive skills struggle to get interviews because their résumé doesn't communicate what they can do. That's what I wanted to help with.

The presentation is organized around three things: facts, aesthetics, and narrative. It includes examples of rewriting experience, résumé critiques, and a discussion of using AI to edit your writing while keeping your own voice and checking every claim.
